It can happen, especially for people who don't want to meet others at bars. Selective dating apps pair like-minded people based on interests. For busy people finding it hard to meet someone, apps are interesting. However, for young people seeking casual hookups, the chaos of 14 inbox messages with abs pictures overwhelms. People aren't supposed to have that many options; historically, choices were limited to your local area, and you'd find the best match there.
Rachel interviewed her 97-year-old grandma about husband-hunting in the early 1940s with Aunt Thelma and Lois. Priorities were a good reputation, nice family (you marry his family), same church and beliefs, good job and future prospects for raising a family. She didn't mention six foot, six-pack, or six figures—wholesome, long-term minded thinking. Rachel admits as a young woman she was stupid, thinking cute and funny was enough.
Normal preferences include tall, fit, wealthy people, but today's issue is performative online behavior seeking constant stranger feedback, positive and negative, drowning kids in anxiety. They're addicted to feedback, pretending to be someone else with filters, leased cars—very strange.
Rachel shows her four girls before-and-afters of Kardashians like Kylie Jenner, who was a normal junior high girl before hundreds of thousands in work, stylists, trainers, facial augmentations, plus filters and editing apps. This isn't real. Growing up in the '90s, Rachel didn't obsess over butt or nose size; today's girls pick themselves apart. Boys think, "I'm short, it's over, self-delete." High percentage of men in sales have no sex; 20% of men desirable to 100% of women, 80% left out.
On Whatever podcast, Rachel probes girls: at 22, rejecting guys making $50k misses growth potential—her husband made $40k when they met, now more. Family motivates men to hustle. Rejecting under six figures means missing great guys; they're programmed for hypergamy, chasing hyper-successful men instead of growing together.
Women told they're perfect goddesses, no need to change; problems blamed on men. Yet many body positivity women now on Ozempic, 120 lbs like UFC weight-cutters. Beautiful influencers are skeletons. Megan Trainor got popular singing about being chunky with big butt boys like; then on GLP-1, skinny. Lizzo did it too.
To men dismissing workouts: if a pill made you instantly strong enough to strangle men or kill with bare hands, would you take it? No one wants vulnerability. No pill exists, but lifting achieves it—power, strength to move things, defend, hold down. Everyone wants it, but the long path scares them.

After fourth baby, pelvic bone separated; doctor said she'd never walk, get a walker, no rehab. Ignored liability-driven advice, started leg lifts in bed, progressed; now super strong, fine.
After son passed, gained weight, couldn't care; gym kept her sane—more than therapy, second to prayer. One more rep battles crazy emotions till exhaustion brings clarity.
