Welcome to the first look and hands-on with the brand new Google Pixel 10A. The Pixel 10A is effectively the same phone as the Pixel 9a. Smartphone releases are often just one or two new things like a spec bump or slight design update, but this is truly the same phone. On the outside, you cannot tell the difference versus last year's Pixel 9a. Same dimensions, same shape, super safe, super generic, super flat design. Still aluminum on the sides, plastic back instead of glass. They make the phone a little bit thicker to eliminate the camera bump and fit a bigger battery. Dual cameras are totally flush with the back, 5100 mAh battery. Buttons, antenna, port, speakers all in the same place. IP68 certified. All footage so far could be of the Pixel 9a. The only way to tell is slightly different colors: old colors for Pixel 9a, new colors for Pixel 10A named fog, obsidian, berry, and lavender.

Display is the same 6.3-inch with well-rounded corners and semi-thick bezels, hole punch top middle, fingerprint under the glass. Still 60 to 120 Hz display, set to 60 Hz by default. Exact same resolution, pixel density. Cameras are the same dual setup: 48 megapixel main and 13 megapixel ultrawide. Inside, same Tensor G4 chip, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB starting storage. Same price as last year's phone: $499 starting.
